About Us
Our Mission:
To provide a full holiday experience for all women who like to travel "not quite alone." by:
-
catering for women of all ages, interests and travel experience.
-
including most meals – recognizing that on some days, we like to choose our own or even just go without.
-
selecting hotels in central, accessible places so that women may explore on their own if they wish.
-
providing hotels with ample withdrawing areas for relaxation.
-
delivering a range of memorable experiences from cooking to shopping, dining, picnics, country walks, story-telling, music, wine tasting, visits to galleries, palazzos, villages, gardens, artisans, antiquities, markets, tombs, churches, haute couture, outlets.
-
Organizing unique experiences eg: leather school class, wine/river cruises, language class, art dinner, Bacchus evening, truffle hunt, mask & music concert, opera evening, glass blowing, perfume atelier, Medici villa lunch
-
allowing space in the itinerary for women to do “their own thing”
-
choosing women guides in each area who are passionate about their topic and entertaining
-
incorporating a flexible approach to each tour – you can add to the list of things to see
-
providing a tour manager who will travel with the group and ensure support, care and fun
Our guides:
Are chosen for their work with small groups as well as their first-hand knowledge and stories about the area.
Eg: Ginevra, our guide in Rome, has a centuries long family history in the city and this is reflected in her “Secret Rome” itineraries which she has designed specially for us.
They know the best times to visit the museums, where to stop for coffee and cakes – as well as the places to buy works from local artisans. They will introduce us to the places not normally visited on bigger tours, getting us away from the crowds in minutes.
Hotel Choices:
One of the keys to this program is the length of time spent in each of the chosen places.- We have no early morning starts or constant moving from hotel to hotel.
Hotels are chosen for a combination of their facilities, ambience, position, customer service and “special something”.
They are three or four star, providing comfortable rooms with individual bathrooms, internet connections and beautiful public rooms. Most have gardens.
**In European hotels, single rooms are generally small, where possible we have tried to arrange for single occupancy/double room.
